The completion of the Hakla-DI Khan highway has a great success for the western route of the CPEC ( China-Pakistan Economic Corridor ). This route will provide quick connections to local residents. In addition, it plans to prepare the shortest route for logistics movement from Xinjiang, China to Gwadar Port.

As per the information, the government promised to complete the western route as an important basis in addition to winning the CPEC project. This will speed up work in other sectors including industry, clean energy and agriculture. The government is also keen to minimize travel times from the federal capital to Quetta through complete other road projects for western alignments, especially the D I Khan-Zhob and Zhob-Quetta roads.
The NHA ( National High Authority ) recently unlocked the western corridor portion of the Hakla-D I Khan highway. The 292.5 km long four-lane highway consists of 11 interchanges, 36 bridges, 119 underpasses, 33 flyovers and 398 culverts.
As per the news, CPEC authorities said the preliminary estimated cost of the project, launched by the PML-N government in 2016, was around 110 billion rupees, but later the current government completed the project at a cost of 81 billion rupees.
